Days of our Lives fans have had a blast seeing Austin Peck back to work as Austin Reed via the show's new digital series Chad and Abby in Paris, but it turns out that's not the only project that has been keeping the soap hunk busy. He has also landed a recurring role in the upcoming season of Chicago Fire.
Peck, who's also known for the role of Brad Snyder on As the World Turns, reveals that he plays a "very interesting" character named Chad in season eight of the primetime drama, which premieres on Wednesday, September 25.
"He's a character that brings some levity to a very intensely driven show," the actor teases about his new role in a recent edition of Soap Opera Digest. "The cast and crew couldn't be better. It's been a really wonderful experience."

Speaking of levity, Peck says that his recent gig filming DAYS' digital companion series was also quite fun, especially considering the character he originally took on in 1995 showed new sides to himself.
"When I got the script, it wasn't written normally like Austin. It had a lot of humor to it. I was very excited," he shares of working on Chad and Abby in Paris. "I don't think the character of Austin has ever been fully explored. I think in the beginning, they established him in a very good way and then all of a sudden, for awhile, he was kind of put into a very small room and not allowed to do very much. Working with Billy [Flynn, Chad] and Kate [Mansi, Abby], I felt like I got to explore a little bit more of Austin and what was more possible as far as just his take on things and maybe sense of humor and even his selfishness. That was really fun."
DAYS fans can watch Peck in Chad and Abby in Paris on NBC.com and via the show's DOOL App, while Chicago Fire is set to debut its eighth season on Wednesday, September 25 at 9:00PM EST.
